Hey everybody this is my first post here so if its in the wrong section im sorry, but i kinda have a problem, i have a BB 8130 and when i first put a mem card into it everything was good, i put it in my computer to add ring tones and music and put it back in the phone and the phone doesnt recognize the Memcard, here is when it gets fun! I go to the mem card options set it to:

\media card support: Yes
Encryption Mode: None
Mass storage mode support: On
Mass storage connected: Yes

Then i go to format the card and it gives me a message saying "media card format Failed" so now im stumped/ mad at it but hey. If anyone can help me please by all means do so.

What size card are you trying to use? You shouldn't need to format (or reformat) as they tend to work correctly out of the package.

* BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4GB
* BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4GB
* BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8GB

im just running a 2GB card and dont know the software.

Try reseating the memory card and doing a battery pull on the card. If that fails then put it back on the PC can you read it? regardless do another format on the PC. Then reinsert in the device (Before adding media put in blank) and try formatting again on the BB. It may be the media you put on it or a bad card.

P.S. on your model you are running 4.3 so you can use up to a 8gb card.

Cool thanks for that tip, but i did the computer thing and it didnt work, but i did fix it by sticking in my buddies samsung and then reinserted it into my bb and reformatted fine. i dunnoill never know
