Default Blackberry Activation Question

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought a 8703e off ebay to use as a phone and calender. I do not want the data plan on the phone. Does anyone know if you need to get one in order to activate it or anyway around it. My provider is u.s. cellular

Thanks in advance

It will work fine for a phone and you can synch using the desktop manager with your PIM for calendar. You won't have push email, etc. but you should be able to activate it without issue. Here is more on what you can and cannot do without a BB data plan.

Check out the FAQ for buying a used BB on eBay. Just in case you have problems.

I bought a 7290 off of ebay last week & after following the above link, all I had to do was remove the IT policy. It works fine without a data plan.
