Default Phone got wet :-/

Please Login to Remove!

Ok... So this is my first post (been searching a lot)

My phone has been giving me problems:

It was dropping calls, losing service for long periods of time, low bars (compared to others with Att)

So Att was sending me a new bb BEFORE what happened next:

Then this weekend i spilled a drink on it... the sticker inside didnt turn red but the phone doesnt turn on

The red light comes on but nothing on the screen...

I know now its probably out of warranty, but they were replacing it before it got wet...

The phone doesnt smell, doesnt look like it got wet (still have dust under the screen)

will they know it got wet or will i be ok if i send it back?

Make sure you don't have the battery in the BB. It may be ok after it has dried for 4 or 5 days in a warm place with the battery removed. They will know because the BB has water markers on battery and other areas in the device.

Welcome to BBF!

Which sticker did you check? Here are the liquid damage indicators > on the battery, there should be a white field with either red Xs across it or a red bar. If the field is pink then that indicates that it has gotten wet. On the HH, it should be near the SIM card and will be pink or red when it has gotten wet.

More info in this thread: Liquid Damage Indicator

If they all are still white you are going to be ok. I don't know how you go about checking the one inside the bb.

Wirelessly posted (my new touch button BB)

If they open it up and find corrosion they will know! Generally with a waranty replacement they don't send a battery you keep the old one unless it is decided the battery to needs replacing

I think they just look at them and then send them to RIM or whoever rebuilds them.
