Default What BlackBerry do I want?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Nextel BlackBerry i7100 that I've sadly only had since January. I have phone insurance on it and can get it replaced since last week it fell off the clip into a puddle of water and has been acting funny ever since but I had bought it from a friend and I am almost to my renewal date through Sprint/Nextel so I am considering upgrading to a better model. On one hand the Nextel walkie talkie is nice (my whole family has Nextel)and I know this is the only model that offers it but on the other hand I'd like to have more features so as long as I stick with s Sprint phone I can still talk without going out of the network. I would really like a phone that has a camera. Is there a good BlackBerry with a camera that takes good pictures? I know nothing is gonna take pics like my expensive digital camera but I have tickets to a concert in August and while the band says they don't mind, the club has a no camera rule. They will let you bring in a camera phone though so I am considering getting a good BlackBerry with a camera and hopefully I can get some semi decent pictures at the concert.

I'd also like to have realtone ringtones. The i7100 doesn't offer that.

Should I upgrade or keep the i7100 model?

I think you have answered all of your own questions. You need to decide what works best for you. We can tell you what we like but that may not work for you.

It is kind of like asking someone what should I choose as my favorite color.

As for Sprint / Nextel with your contract coming up you may want to look at other carriers as well.

I honestly don't want to switch carriers only because my entire family uses Sprint/Nextel and we talk alot. If I switch carriers I'd definitely go over my minutes because of all of the phone calls. I was with Verizon just 2 years ago and my phone bill was ridiculous because of my entire family using Sprint/Nextel. This is why I switched.

I guess I am looking for recommendations on what is a good BlackBerry to buy that works with Sprint.

All BlackBerrys from Sprint work... and they all work like a champ.

Now it all boils down to your preference:
Did you want a full QWERTY keyboard? Or SureType?
Camera or no camera? Pearl? Curve? or 8830?

Definitely want a camera. I can get used to the keyboard either way. The keyboard I have now is QWERTY but I have used old cell phones to text so going back to the old way won't matter much.

Pearl? Curve? or 8830? What's the difference??

I beleive Sprint do the 8330.

Have a look at this:-

BlackBerry - BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone

Blackberry .com is a good place to research devices, check out their specs etc but often the best thing to do is to go to a store to get the 'feel' of them before making a decision.

I'd say go for the 8330 BUT test drive it first...

Pearl 8130 = suretype device

8830 - I do not think this has a camera.

Sounds like the 8330 would be good for you. Test drive it and then make the choice.
