Why is the Blackberry desktop affiliated with a phone Co.? When I download the desktop, it screwed up the color in XP desktop. I expect the BB desktop to be the same as on the BB. Am I doing something wrong? I'm cheap, I have pay as you go T-MO.

Can you please explain a little more clearly?
I don't know about others, but I'm having a hard time understanding what you're talking about.

I agree Penguin -- I am quite perplexed as to what the OP is asking.

Like I said, I bought my first BB, a used 7290 on line, unlocked. I use T-Mobile pay as u go sim card. Do I need a BB service. If so is the $10. good enuf for a newbie? I expected to use it like a computer offline. We'll leave the rest alone for now.

Yes, you need a BlackBerry Data Plan if you want to use all of the features of your BlackBerry, such as web browsing, email, IM, etc.

You can't use any data features with a pay-as-you-go SIM card.

I don't know what $10 you are referring to. Is that some sort of data plan?

I don't know what you mean by "I expected to use it like a computer offline". That doesn't really make any sense to me. What exactly do you want to use the BlackBerry for?

Like when you bootup, the interface on the BB is what I expect to be on my computer a/f downloading the desktop. Why type on the BB when it is easier on the keyboard then download to BB. This is what frustrates me.

The interface on the BB will be its own interface; it will not look like your desktop on the PC.

As for typing of the computer, if you use Outlook you can store the names, addresses, etc., of contact in Outlook and it will sync with the BB, and any that you do end up typing on the BB will also sync with the computer.

Sorry, gasman33... I really can't quite comprehend what you're talking about.
