Default Exchnage 2007 not working with Blackberry Internet Service

Please Login to Remove!

Dear All,

We have some users who use Blackberry Internet Service to connect to email hosted in Sweden on Outlook Web Access. Previously the Exchange version was 2003 and all worked well. This week the Swedish IT support have upgraded Exchange to 2007, on a new server with a new IP. We still use the same url for the OWA and in a web browser it works fine.

When the upgrade took place the BIS accounts broke and were asking to be validated. We tried to validate and it didn't work. We left it 48 hours for DNS replication and it still didn't work. We tried removing the email account and re-adding it and it didn't work. We tried talking to O2 and Vodafone for suggestions and they didn't help.

I do not administrate the Exchange Server in Sweden and communicating with the Swedish support is not the easiest.

Q1. Can anyone provide me with some sensible questions I should be asking the Swedish Exchange admins regarding their setup as to why it doesn't work?

Q2. Does anyone know if the Blackberry Internet service caches DNS? If it does I guess we may still be pointing to the old server IP?

Q3. Help?

If I'm not mistaken, Exchange 2007 has compatibility issues with Blackberry. That's the first thing to check. I'm not an administrator, just a guy who picks up some odd details here and there. You might do better asking this in the BES Admin Corner forum. Even though you're asking about BIS, these are the Alpha-geeks of the Blackberry world. :D

Default BIS to OWA through ISA?

Thanks rambo47, I will try the BES Admin Forum.

...I believe that Exchange 2007 is now supported.

I have found out that the Exchange 2007 is behind an ISA server. Not sure if the 2003 Exchange that worked was also behind same ISA, yet.

I have seen a few bits and pieces with people having problems with BIS through ISA.

Does anyone know if this is my problem?
