Default Verizon Blackberry 8330 Chinese Support

Please Login to Remove!

I bought a Verizon Blackberry 8330 because I believed it would offer simplified Chinese support for display. After spending a day on the phone with Verizon and getting passed around was finally told, "we don't offer it. Try Handdango." Handdango apparently wants $100 a month for this feature which has been offered free through most carriers and has been widely used on Blackberries. Anyone who uses Chinese on a Blackberry have any suggestions or who can point to a Chinese software site that offers download for Chinese language support on a 8330?

Welcome to BBF.

You'll need to find an OS that is multilanguage. You'll just have to do some searching as I don't know which ones have Chinese included.

Thanks for your message. If I use an OS other than the one Verizon supplied will that affect my use of Verizon as my carrier?

No, as long as the OS is for the 8330, the carrier that releases it doesn't matter.

Question regarding this... if I were to load in an OS from another carrier, does my carrier (Sprint) still provision in the misc software? (Sprint TV, Sprint GPS, etc)

I am also trying to find a multi-language OS for my 8330 (Chinese), but cant seem to find a CDMA carrier that has an OS with that.

Thanks
