Nicely done, Cory and everyone...this is the internet (and us humans in general) at their finest.

Donation sent, for phone/charity as required.

Having 1) Driven out from under a pair of very expensive perscription glasses once (I could hear them "screeeeeeeeeee" sliding across the roof of my car as I pulled away from the curb, and 2) Discovered that my laptop was right in front of me on on top of my hood as I was driving down the street at about 30 MPH, I can really empathize with your experience, Dawg.

Wow 485.00 I am blown away. I am so happy to be getting a new BB but I am more excited about the donation to the American Cancer Society contribution.

My dad used to tell me you cant have friends over the Internet he said its just to impersonal. I called him last night and then sent him a link to this thread. He called me late last night and said he stands corrected.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart, I am truly touched by this. My wife really thanks you because I wont be moping around lost with out my addiction.

I am truly becoming a believer in karma, last Friday was having a quick lunch at a place called the waffle house. Its a short order kinda place. Well these two really rough looking guys walk in. One is carrying two bed rolls, the other a duffel bag. They were really looked like they had been on the road for a very long time. They were happy and cutting up like they didn't have a care in the world.

they were talking and trying to scrape together enough money to buy them a meal. They said that they had twenty dollars left. They ordered their meal and went into the restroom. Well something came over me and I told the waitress to give me their bill.

She asked why do you know them. I replied no I just want to buy their lunch. She asked who do I tell them paid for it. I said just tell em Jesus did it. So I paid my bill and left with the best feeling in the world. It wasn't much but it was from the heart.

So here I am receiving a gift from the heart and thats what really rocks my world.

I have an otterbox from WES (for the curve) that I most certainly won't be using. PM me the address to send it to.

If you don't use it; just pass it along.

I've sorta been out of commission the past 18 hours, and wow, seeing where this thread has gone in that time period is just amazing (but honestly, I can't say I am surprised at how everyone rallied 'round).

All who have pitched in--thanks!

custom I always buy soldiers in uniform meals for their service to me and my country. I just love to do that. But these two guys just inspired me so much they didn't have a care in the world and didn't have any possessions except what was on their backs. They were happy and I loved that. Since I have done that so many good things have happened even with the early demise of my pearl its turned positive.

I just sent $10.00. I'm sorry it's not much, but we've been saving for my daughter's braces, since we don't have insurance. Everyone's generosity is so amazing and I am sure it's greatly appreciated.

Dawg, I will be looking forward to the pics of your new device when you get it.

As Always.....

Happy Berrying!

NO DONATION is to small

keep in mind that which is not used to acquire a new BB for DAWG goes to acancer charity. I bet most of us have a friend family member or acquaitance that has dealt with this. Most have been affected by cancer in some way. I have 6 sisters and mom statistically speaking one of them will get breast cancer If I recall properly.

please Donate what you can

we have other Blackberry Forum owners donating

Thanks Crackberry
Thanks Blackberryboards

This is very awesome. Of all the various boards I belong too (iPhone,Joomla,DotNetNuke,Treo,Q,Drupal, etc.), I doubt any would do something as charitable as this one.

Not to be sappy, but Dawg's story about buying lunch for the two guys, along with this entire thread, just about brings me to tears. This thread is a affirmation that goodness and generosity are still alive and well!

Yes, I want to know how you like the Curve, Dawg. I just got a notice from Verizon that I can upgrade now, long before my 2 year contract is up on the 8703e. I have until June 15 for this offer.

Definately go for it. The Curve (at least on Sprint) is the best device yet that I have used.

Sounds like love at first sight...hehe. I'll be going down the Verizon store to play with one this weekend. Once I have it in my hand, I'm sure I'll want it.

Cory,

I know on Dawg's thread about the demise of his previous BB a few suggested this idea, but Thank you for taking the initiative to get this rolling. Many people have great intentions (myself included) but never take the step to make it happen, thanks for being a leader on this forum.

So from the East Coast of this great Nation to the West Coast, way to step up!

Dawg, enjoy!

Garth
