Hi all-

Have a personal BB 8700 with all contacts on the phone (and not the SIM). Would like to back up contacts to my laptop, which is running Windows Vista (Home Premium, 6.0.6000, X86).

Just attempted to install Desktop Manager, but the version I have apparently is incompatible with Vista.

I'm looking for a simple solution. Is there a newer download of Desktop Manager that will work?

What version did you use?
If you tried 4.3, uninstall it and install 4.2

Thanks. I tried 4.2 and got the error:

1. Failed to install ISKernel files.
Make sure you have appropriate privileges on this machine.

Needless to say, I'm the admin, it's my PC, I'd already restarted, and nothing else was running.

Any thoughts? TIA.

which suggests an upgade to Install Shield 12 might be required...but I've never had this issue installing anything before...and don't know where to get Install Shield or how to determine if this is even the issue.
