Hi all, I am trying to get tethering working with my 8820 on AT&T. I've installed Desktop Manager v4.3.0.17 and AT&T Communications Manager v6.8.16. My BB shows up in Desktop Manager and syncs fine, but there is no virtual serial port or standard modem under device manager. When I run AT&T Communications Manager and try to select the GSM device, the only thing listed is my laptops internal modem.

I called AT&T, but they were no help. They tried transferring me to RIM, but I hung up after being on hold for 20 minutes (after 45 minutes on w/ AT&T). Any ideas what I need to do to get the serial port and modem to show up on my computer?

Try reinstalling Desktop Manger...click the "Repair" option. That usually loads the standard modem for me.
