what are "folders"? I assume that "folders" are for storing emails, but can't be sure. I take it "folders" is not a place to store drafts of compositions or memos from memopad, correct? Truth is, I have created several folders with nice useful names but cannot see how one goes about putting anything in them! Does anyone here use them? For what? Thank you. |
Wirelessly posted (Breaking Ball) They're for organizing the icons on your device. They're not for messages or any other data. It's purely for icon arrangement and organization. |
Thanks, penguin, but can you elaborate? Why would one want to "organize icons"? Do you download extra applications and the desktop gets crowded or something? |
Wirelessly posted (Breaking Ball) Exactly. |
well for us organized folk, folders could be very cool. You coulod have all your IM and "social networking" icons in one folder. Email accounts in another, gps/mapping in another, and so on. I wouldnt say its the greatest feature, but hey... |
Oh, I'm sure it's great. But to be honest, I don't even know what IM and social networking icons are, nor what other cool applications I could be downloading. I'm having enough trouble making the phone work! Not really, I'm getting there slowly. Thanks for any additional tips. |
For instance, I have several games on my BB, and instead of 5-6 extra icons on the applications screen, I have a folder named "Games" with all those games moved into that folder. |
For me, instead of hiding all of the icons that I don't use, I just move them to a folder I like to call, "Unused Icons" and just hide it. Then, when/if I want/need to use one of those icons, I go there instead of unhiding and searching through all of my icons. |
