Unlimited International Data Only What is the best (cheapest) carrier and plan if I want to use DATA ONLY on an unlimited international plan? Is it only available on AT&T and T-MOBILE? Please help and advise. |
I spend about 95% of my time abroad for work and use a local SIM and another cell phone for calls. By the way, I am looking for a service provider from the States. |
Wirelessly posted (my new touch button BB) International data for a BB on ATT requires you keep it for at least a year |

I am trying to call AT&T to ask about their service but I can't get through. Terrible service. I called T-Mobile and they advise me that an UNLIMITED INTERNATIONAL E-MAIL ADD ON is an additional $9.99/mo, onto any other existing package. Does anyone use this set up? |

Richchin, I have the EXACT same question. My understanding is AT&T is $69.99/month. TMobile costs $20/month for email + ~$16/Megabyte for international non-email data. Neither of these sound very good to me and I feel like I could maybe get a better rate from an Asian service provider. Richchin, did you find any better infomation? |

I have to wait till next billing cycle to see what the bill looks like. |
I use the international data plan through ATT($64.99 in conjunction with my voice plan; would be $69.99 with no voice plan). It has worked great for me with no crazy billing. Lots of use in Europe, Middle East and Southwest Asia. |

[quote=richchin;965586]I am trying to call AT&T to ask about their service but I can't get through. Terrible service. QUOTE] I've done extensive research into this plan. It's called the AT&T World BB Unlimited International plan. Give this guy a call, he can help Tom at AT&T on 1-800 342 3212 extn 6321 He knows what he is talking about and will fix you straight up. |
T-Mo is regular BB plan + international add on for another $20 which includes everything mail and data. Been there, done it and it is $20 for everything. Used it while in China. |
I have no voice plan with AT&T. I just have BlackBerry Personal Naitonal Unlimited ($35) So, if I subscribe to AT&T International Unlimited, do I pay: 1. $35 Naitonal Unlimited + $69.99 International Unlimited or 2. just $69.99 in total |

I have one BB 8300 serviced by T-Mobile with a 202 area code and another with a T-Mobile Deutschland. The 202 service has international roaming, unlimited data, emails worldwide. I do not use the voice other than in emergencies. My bill remains about the same, $138.00 each month and the service is fantastic. But you have to remember: Roaming is not free. If you grab a piece of a tower that is not T-MD, you will get a charge of about 50 cents for an originated SMS if you are lucky. I have had one charge of about $2.00). An originated voice call is about a buck a minute with a connection fee that starts at a buck. roaming gets interesting. If you initiate an email, you start the clock ticking. That is data and you only get 2 MB. Unlimited browsing isn't. Uncle Europa feels that 2 MB of browsing is all you need with a delux plan per month. that just gets me started. And the ubiquitous roaming fee... So I started using the T-MD BB. Shazam. Not much difference, but I can make cell-to-cell calls for no additional cost. Mostly. I have gotten a few connection charges for roaming. Well, I guess it is a cost of doing business... |

Here's their reply: "Thank you for taking the time to e-mail the new AT&T in regards to what you would be charged while you are roaming internationally for your rate plans. My Name is xxxx and I am happy to help you with your inquiry. I understand the urgency of resolving this quickly for you. You are required to keep your $35 Blackberry Personal plan while you are roaming internationally. This plan is your base plan and cannot be removed. You would be charged the base rate of $35.00 and the international Blackberry plan for $64.99." |
I have AT&T, I'm really not sure which is better but I really like my service. |
