That's good news indeed. I'm guessing that TMo will put out OS 4.5 a few days later. Does anyone who was upgraded know if the OS was pushed at about the same time as the BIS upgrade? I would guess there would be a delay of a few days to shake out the bugs.
OSs are never pushed. You would have to use some other carrier's 4.5 OS so you would get to experience the whole thing. My guess is, T-Mobile should be releasing their own 4.5 OS (probably a week after next?) which would work perfectly with UMA, WiFi, BT and with just about everything else.
My fault. I mean rolled out I.e. Released, not pushed.

Nah, after reading the thread about the problems people had with the Vodafone 4.5 release for the Pearl, I'll wait for Tmo's release.

Ditto here.

Even though "Automatically download images" is set to "Yes", I still have to go to Menu / Get Images / Yes - to download images for every e-mail.

Maybe it is a carrier by carrier setting.

Hmm some e-mails actually have the images showing correctly without having to click "Get Images".

Trying to work out the logic here. Will wait for some more HTML e-mails / newsletters to see if there's some correlation.

Why? Because I consider HTML mail useless, a waste of bandwidth, and an indicator that the sender is incapable of making an articulate point without the help of crutches such as flowers, bells, and whistles?

Just asked O2 Ireland about this and they said they performed the upgrade over the weekend. I logged in to my BIS and deleted all the accounts and added them again, got the service books sent etc and when I go into options I dont have any new lines as shown in the first post.

Am I missing something here?

You need to have OS 4.5 for your device.

Try a battery pull. Re-register via HRT. Re-send service books from the website again. Delete/re-add the email addresses, make sure there's some delay time between them.

Also, create a new hotmail account and "try" to integrate that on your carrier's BIS website. If it works, then it's confirmed, your carrier is on BIS 2.5. If not, then I guess the rep who told you about the upgrade just made it up.

Have pulled battery, registered through HRT and also resent service books and still nothing. Going to try remove and recreate accounts again now. When you say make sure there's some delay, do you mean between deleting and recreating or between deleting each one?

Eg. I have 4 a/c's on it currently. Do you mean delete 1, wait, then another, wait, etc etc or do them 1 by 1 and wait between delete and reinstall

You can try: deleting everything and re-add everything again like after 5 or 10mins? If you have set up filters on some your email accts, please proceed at your own risk. You will be losing all of them with the deletion...

But I suggest you go with trying the Hotmail workaround I mentioned earlier just to check if your carrier is (indeed) already on BIS 2.5

Tried to sign up for a Hotmail account a few times and seems their signup server/system is down, so I remembered I had an old Yahoo mail address and I reactivated it and added it using the BIS page and still no luck.

In the meantime, O2 told me "Version 4.5 will allow customers to view emails in full HTML format once approved." & "A minority of our customers will have already upgraded to a non O2 approved version of firmware. These customers will not experience difficulties when attempting to receive emails in HTML format, but they will not be able to view this on their Blackberry."

Hmm funny you should say that...... wonder if it's related but I can't seem to download any images for HTML e-mail.

The HTML e-mail is fine, but no external images will display? Embedded ones work just fine, but if I get an HTML newsletter for example, and click Get Images - nothing happens........

I would guess blackberry uses browser to download images. What browsers do you have on your device and which is configured as default browser?
