Default Switch Device Wizard

Please Login to Remove!

I'm switching from a VZW 8830 to a Alltel 8330. I ran the switch device wizard and the backup portion work as it should. When it came time to attach the 8330, desktop manager could see it and only the com ports and not the usb port were options. During the backup portion the connection was usb with the 8830 pin attached. (e.g. USB 5938389). I'm using 4.2 SP2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As an aside, Alltel bought out our companies VZW account and the day they delivered all the new phones VZW announced they were buying Alltel.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

Many times it takes a couple of BB reboots and PC reboots. Just an issue with the drivers.

Same happened here. Didn't switch carriers though. When I connected the curve, I went to device manager in xp, deleted the usb device with the yellow ? then disconnected and reconnected the curve. Device showed up as new hardware, went through the xp process of installing a new device, then was recognized in bb desktop manager software.
