Hiding the blackberry messenger icon?

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable or hide the BB messenger icon (smiley face) that appears when you have a new messenger message? i could not find a option to turn that off, maybe is there a theme taht does it?

You can uninstall it via the desktop manager application loader... or use a theme (like the AT&T icon theme) that puts it in a folder.

If you want an I. M. Program you can use Bee Jive it only gives you a star next to the app icon. No separate notification.

Good point, jivetalk does not give you that other notification at the top of the screen. Works well too. Nice call
