Default How do i get aim on a T-mobile BB curve

i just got a tmobile bb curve and when i click the Instant messanger button it tells me to sign up at Blackberry dot com/aim. when i go there to sign my phone up it says it is not up to spec... whats up? cant the curve get aim? also i didnt get a data plan is that it?

basically you can't unless you get a data plan.

so what is the wifi for? just for browsing? theres got to be a way to use the wifi to get on aim.

either way, not sure if there is a way to get around the service books, i believe t-mobile doesn't support the rim aim.
