Default Wi Fi Problem

Please Login to Remove!

When my BB 8820 is connected to a wi fi access point and I open the browser it seems to be using the phone to access the internet instead of the access point. The BB shows it is using edge to connect. I hope I am not too confused.Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jack
