Default Getting frustrated....

Please Login to Remove!

Alright, this is round two....

First round, I purchased a BB 8700, had alot of trouble, but figured it out, it's all good. But the Desktop Manager would not load for me at all.... I downloaded different versions, tried running as an admin, everything, and yes i'm on Vista.

Upgraded to a Pearl....having the same problem, I've read how certain versions worked for other people on Vista but I've had no such luck.

Please help :(

Which version of the DM? Most here recommend 4.2 w/SP2 while there is 4.3 available from RIM.
I'm using Vista Home Premium with 4.3 and I'm not having issues connecting my 8320 Curve, though tethering is another story.

This last time I tried 4.3

When I try to boot the program it flashes a black screen (Similar to the command prompt.) and goes away.

Doesn't sound like it installed properly. Are you installing the DM from vendor CD or straight from RIM? I highly recommend getting it from RIM as the vendor might have monkeyed with it that and CDs are kinda easy to destroy the contents (heating, time, press error).
DM Downloads.

I don't remember how I installed DM but I know that with many programs, even though I have administer rights, I still have to right click the file and run as administer. That solves most Vista program running problems for me.

Wirelessly posted

The other option is to run in compatibility mode.

Yeah, I'm Admin and I right click run admin as well.

How do I go about running in compatibility mode?

Thanks for the help!

Right click on the file. Go to properties, then choose the compatibility tab.

No luck, doing the same thing.

Unless it requires a restart or such after?

One last thought here, try turning off any firewall and virus protection program and see if you can install then. After installing, be sure and turn them back on.

If that doesn't work, have you tried calling AT&T for support?

Good luck,
