Default Sync google calendar without syncing outlook calendar to google

Please Login to Remove!

i'm a new BB user, and just getting used to my phone and starting to customize it for my needs.
From what I could see in my googling, it seems that if i use google sync to sync my google calendar, it will pull my outlook appointments into the google calendar as well. Is this true? Is there a way to avoid that? I would like to sync *only* my google calendar, but there is no safe way for me to even test this -- accidentally syncing my work calendar to google calendar would be a Very Bad Thing for me.
Thanks!

Default additional data i forgot earlier

1) BB 8330 on Verizon

2) I would be fine with needing to go to the google calendar website to add / remove / edit events if that's the only way to do it. I would like to receive reminders on my phone, and having it show up in the phone calendar would be very very very nice

Set up Desktop Manager to ignore your Outlook calendar. Use Google Calendar Sync on the BB and not on your desktop. That will keep the two apart.
