Default Best service for Blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello! I (stupidly) purchased an ATT 7280 off of eBay months ago, under the impression that it would work with my preexisting Cingular service. Needless to say, I've discovered that I was horribly mistaken. Rather than paying $100 to get it unlocked, I've started looking around at other companies for service.

What, in everyone's experience, has been the best service provider for their Blackberry? In terms of price, services, BB prices for new customers... any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would just pay the money to have it unlocked. That way you are not tied to just one provider. I am still on the AT&T side with mine and I know once the migration is 100% complete, I will have to send it out to be unlocked. How much did you pay for the 7280? Are you looking to sell it already? I may be in the market for a 2nd on for my business. Just a thought.

I think I paid around $80 for it, brand new. I've been using it as a PDA for months and I love it. At the moment I'm not looking to sell it, but if I change my mind I'll be sure to let you know.

After posting this, I did some research on plans... Cingular, who I'm with, is about $60 for an unlimited data package. Verizon was something like $40, and T-Mobile was only $30. Since I'm not looking to give up my cell phone, and I don't need minutes with my BB, I'm really just in the market for the cheapest, easiest, and most reliable data plan available.

Other than these three, are there other service providers that I missed? What is your experience with them? Would there be any chance I could get one of them to unlock my current 7280?

Thanks again. Sorry I have so many questions, lol.

I would try and sell the 7280 and shoot for a 7290 or something you can use with your existing carrier. I would not pay the $100 to have it unlocked. Unless you plan to travel internationally it's a wasted investment. You could seel that one and buy another Cingular 7280 for less than $100 difference but I suggest moving to a new unit...

Hmmmm, well in my situation, Unlocking it is the only option I will have when the migration is complete. If my BB is still in working order at that time, there is no reason for me to pay $300+ for a new on when I can spend $100.00 to get it unlocked. I'm just cheap and don't want to buy another one. That's just my $0.02 worth.
