Default Pushed WLAN Policy Resultings in Generic Name

Please Login to Remove!

When pushing a non-broadcast SSID using WPA, the device (8320, etc) shows "Default IT policy" as the network profile name.

Does anyone know if there is a way to change this? I'm not seeing this in BES. Not interested in an on-device setting.

Thanks in advance!

This annoyed me for a while too... and then I discovered WLAN Configuration Sets in the Global Properties for the BlackBerry Domain.

Instead of using the IT policy to specify the WiFi network ...add various WLAN Configuration Sets based on your WiFi networks, and then assign them to the users.
It's a little more configuration needed on your part, but in the end, you'll get the WLAN Configuration Set name to appear on the device instead of 'Default IT Policy'.
You can name the configuration set whatever you want.

Thanks very much for that. Based on what you're saying, and what I'm finding in BES MGR, I would have to push a WLAN configuration set per user. Is that right?

It sure would be nice to configure this per group.

I don't use groups, so I'm not sure if you can assign a WLAN Configuration Set to a group.
I assign directly to users, because we only have a handful with WiFi capable devices.

It would make sense that you could assign to a group. Give it a shot and let us all know!
