Smile Newbie Can't Get Email, Browser OR Phone

Please Login to Remove!

Hello! My employers gave me a Blackberry to learn how to use (Alltel 7250 using the Enterprise version). I am having many problems with connectivity, however, but it is probably something very simple that I need to change in the setup. I was hoping that someone could help me.

PROBLEMS:
1. I cannot receive email, and my outgoing email is just "pending."
2. I cannot make phone calls (It rings one time, then a recording announces that "We're sorry. We are unable to process your call.")
3. I cannot access the internet (An error message says "Unable to connect to the selected Mobile Data Service.")

OTHER INFORMATION:
I have "Turned Wireless On" and the signal is at least 3-4 bars.
The network administrator at work has installed the Desktop Manager Software.

Are there any other settings that I should check?

Thanks!
Jessi

Look on the top row; does it display "1x" or "1X"; if it does NOT show 1X, you will not be able to do much of anything. Have you called Alltel to see if the account/phone number is set up properly?

It does display a "1x".

I have not yet called Alltel because all the account and representative contact information is at work. I have to demonstrate this Blackberry on Monday, so I was hoping to have this figured out before I went back to work.

Thanks,
Jessi

What does this mean? How can I obtain more information? I did a "search" on the downloaded User's Guide, but found nothing.

Thanks,
Jessi

1x means that your BlackBerry does not have a "BlackBerry Data Plan" set up for it. It is not authorize to log on to the BlackBerry network. The solution lies within Alltel...
