Where did you get that version number? The newest I know of is 4.0.2.35, which I am running on my 7290.

StarHub has 4.0.2.35 (Chinese) and 4.0.2.28 (Multi-Lang) - these are the Apps versions; Package version is .49 and .39, respectively.

The Chinese version includes Chinese, but can still be installed as English.

If you don't know, then do not upgrade. It is generally not worth upgrading unless you are interested in a feature. If nobody is talking about differences, then the difference is not big enough to be raving about (i.e. version 3.x going to 4.x was a much bigger upgrade)

Yes, but while it is CARRIER-independent, it is MODEL-dependent. You can only install a 7250 upgrade on your 7250. This means you cannot install, say a Cingular 7780 on a Verizon 7250..... BUT .... you can install Sprint 7250 on a Verizon 7250.

Minor exceptions apply (i.e. GSM 7230 firmewares works on GSM 7280's).

Generally, no. You got to do it yourself.

Depends. Go to the OS 4.0 Upgrade FAQ.

Depends on what you were using before. 4.x uses a lot more memory than anything 3.x.
