Hello, i have an 8310 with AT&T. I want to get OZ IM, but i don't have a data plan. I do however have unlimited text messaging. Will OZ IM use data or text messaging for the usage? Thanks.

You need a data plan, even to use OZ. OZ requires the data to log in. Then once logged in it uses your sms text plan.

How much do you assume they will charge me for signing on?

I don't know. Depends on how many times you sign on and off, etc.

Right, its 1 cent a kb, so kinda go from there. I don't think its enough to get a data plan for (if that was all you were going to use it for), but don't get shocked when you see the bill.

Also... AT&T lets you see your kb usage online through their site. Use it for a few days and then check your usage. If it only costs you a a dollar a day or more than get the data plan. If it's pennys a day then stick with the default Pay Per Use.

Personally I want unlimited everything but I don't use the net on my phone enough to justify the data plan. I do however KILL the text usage, so the $20 a month is will worth it.
