Using Verizon or Sprint BB on Alltel?
 

Is it possible to activate a Verizon or Sprint BB on Alltel? I know Alltel lets you activate Verizon phones because I used to have a Verizon RAZR which I flashed to Alltel and Alltel activated it just fine for me. Can I do that with the BB?

The 8830 has CDMA and GSM capability. Call and ask. The worst they can say is No.

Sprint, Verizon and Alltel are all CDMA. I have read that Sprint and Verizon do not allow other devices on their networks. I am not sure how Alltel works with this. You may want to contact them and ask them.

So just call up Alltel and ask them if I can use a Verizon or Sprint BB (I would get the Curve) on Alltel?

this is the fifth thread in so many days on this it has been reported that the phone will work but not the data

Why won't data work?

dont know but no one has been able to get it to. Probablly because the hardcode in the device or something i dont really know.
