Default Navigation for US Cellular Blackberry Curve 8830

Please Login to Remove!

I am looking for voice navigation for my US Cellular BB Curve 8830. A lot of applications will not download because my carrier is US Cellular. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

The only voice nav I know of is those supplied by the carrier for an extra fee per month, Telenav on ATT and VZNav on Verizon.

All map applications require a BB data plan as well.

Check the stickies in the GPS section. That might be of use to you.

Garmin lists US Cellular as a supported carrier. You have to purchase a lifetime subscription, but you can test drive for 7 days. Can't post a link but go to their site, choose, on the go, mobile phone, blackberry and look for the ad on the right side that will give you the link for the trial.

I don't know about your carrier or phone model but adding a puck can sometimes get you around carrier restrictions or lack of a gps-inside-the-phone. Nav4all and amazegps but give verbal directions but use data. gps copilot might also work.

I have a Pearl 8130 with US Cellular and I know how it can be trying to find certain carrier-specific applications.

I've tried both TeleNav and Garmin and found TeleNav to be more stable in general and better traffic rerouting accuracy.

Telenav doesn't have US Cellular listed as a supported carrier on their download page, but if you choose the Alltel link it will work for you.

Good luck!
