Hi,there.

I am using a 8830 in china ,with CDMA and GSM work well.

The only thing puzzled me is I can't use the original browser(both in CDMA 1X and gprs data plan).

I have tried to restore some servicebook ipd files from the net(from carrier other than mine in china: my carrier is ChinaUnicom, I restored China Mobile's ), after done that ,it bring out the browser icon(but can't explore the wap, internet. MMS doesn't work either ), but some third party program work well:GMAIL, OPERA MINI, etc

I wonder if someone can give me the right servicebook ipd to make it work. Maybe you can backup your ipd and post it here. Thank you in advance.

I will post the wap and mms setting later, some information about the service book ipd will also be appriciated.

Service Books are delivered wirelessly though your carrier's network.
They get delivered to your device when you have a properly provisioned BlackBerry Data Plan.
Without a BlackBerry Data Plan... no service books... no native browser.

You can't extract and restore service books from IPD files.

Thank you for your reply.
I have heard about that to request a hrt from my carrier. BUT my carrier doesn't support that! I have also heard about someone make the browser work after import th ipd file in our country.
In china : china mobile sell it's BB service (BES ,NO BIS),china unicom doesn't supply this service .
But china unicom runs two mobile network: CDMA 1X(not 1xevdo)and gsm
I can use all the third party internet programs except the original browser, but why? Still somebody here can use it.

More info on that how it works will help me. Also a servicebook ipd will help.
There is a program named. Ipdedit can show some information. You can try google

I dint think you'll convince us that it will work... Even if we use google. As stated above, service books are pushed from your carrier, when you have a qualified data plan.

Great. Wonderful. Glad you found some software.
You still need a BlackBerry Data Plan to use the native browser and get MMS functionality.

Service Books are useless without a BlackBerry Data Plan.
