Upgraded my BB8800 to OS 4.5 a week ago. Ever since, here is what has happened:

I have two calendars now (this seems normal). I have them set so I can see both at the same time.

Items in blue ("Device Calendar") sync with Outlook properly

Items in green ("my@emailaddress.com calendar") stay on the device and never sync with outlook.

This is a little frustrating, because I have now created items in "green" which don't sync with outlook. And I can't seem to "move" them to the other calendar.

I really only want one calendar (the blue one) because all of my stuff is in outlook. There are only 10 or so green calendar entries, so I'd like to move them (or delete/recreate if I have to) to the other calendar and totally blow away this green "device" calendar.

Is this possible? Can I disable it somehow? I tried to hide the green calendar, but when I enter a new calendar item on the BB, it comes up in green and goes back to the default view (blue+green shown).

Arrggh!

Your calendar items are "attached" to an email address on your device. Look at Calendar > Options.

At options > advanced > default services, set your default calendar there.

Then you will need to delete and re-enter those 10 items, or put them in Outlook and let them sync over to the correct calendar.

I tried what you suggested and here is what I see:

Calendar(CICAL):
Messaging (CMIME):

I can't change either of those items. When I select the email address and click on it, it comes up in a dropdown list but there are no other selections.

Is there some other way to set my default calendar to the "device" calendar as you've suggested?

The device calendar seems to exist (items show up, syncs with Outlook, etc.) but I cannot add items to it from the BB and now it appears I can't even select it to change to it. It's as if the device calendar "doesn't exist" as far as the BB is concerned...

BHA, what is your OS you are running on the BB, look at options > About. The line starting with "v..."

OS version is:

v4.5.3.37 (Platform 2.7.0.55)

This time go here: At options > advanced > default services, set your default calendar there. Not Service Books, but Default Services.

That's exactly where I went the first time. Never went to Service Books or anything else.

Options > Advanced > Default Services gives me the response I outlined below (see the email address listed beside "Calendar" and "Messaging" but can't change it)

I'm guessing I should be able to change one or both of those items to "Default" but that doesn't show up in the list. I can click on the email address, or select it and pick "Change Option" from the menu, but either way I only get one item in the pulldown list!

Ok, I see that you did, my bad-- was thinking you we viewing your service books.

Do you only have ONE email address enabled on the BlackBerry device? If you have two or more, those choices should be in the dropdown list in the Default Services...

Perhaps your Service Books IS where you need to look... to see if all your email is provisioned correctly.

Basically, I had this same issue when I first upgrade. Some calendar items were 'on' the wrong email address.

Just have one email address associated with the device. It's a BIS email account. No BES or IT policy attached to the device in any way.

Here is what I have for service books:
my@email address (CICAL)
ess (CMIME)
...and a bunch of other stuff..

Let me know if you need me to list it all. Should I consider blowing away all of the service books and resending them?

I deleted the first two (my@email.address ones I mentioned above) and resent them about a week ago, but it is still doing it. Haven't touched the others since I got the device months ago.

Tried deleting ALL service books and resent them. It wouldn't let me delete the "Provisioning" one, but I wiped the rest and resent.

It's still doing it. Can't select anything other than "my@emailaddress.com" from the pulldown list.

No, that is fine as it is then, if you have only the one email address, you won't get a choice there. You still need to manually move those those ten calendar items to Outlook.

OK I was able to delete those "green" items from my "my.emailaddress.com" calendar.

Recreated them in the "blue" (device calendar)

Everything from the blue calendar syncs with Outlook as it should.

So that all worked.. BUT..

When I go to create a new calendar item in the BB, it still creates it in green. If I try to "hide" the green calendar, it comes back as soon as I create a new item on the BB (obviously, since new items are green ones).

Can I make the BB stop creating green items? If not, I can't create new calendar items on the BB if I want them to sync with Outlook!!!

No, I think you'll find that the calendar attached to your email address is the default calendar. I don't know about green and blue, you can set them to be whatever color you want.

Here is what I had to do... I had to make sure sure EVERYTHING was in Outlook, correct.

Then I cleared my Calendar items completely on the BB, and resynced ALL back to the BlackBerry.

I've tried everything on this thread with no luck. Initially I received the error and afterwards, it didn't even register the Calendar sync process. Everything else sync'd fine. Luckily, I sync everyday and my main data input is in Outlook. I RESET my blackberry and just set everything up again. Now it's fine.

My tip: If you have all this saved in Outlook already, save yourself a headache and just reset. It sucks but the time spent to reconfigure vs. troubleshoot is far less.

BHA, I can definitely understand where you're coming from. I actually HAD the Default (blue) calendar on mine and it disappeared somehow - I didn't make any changes to the device - leaving me only with my two personal e-mail accounts. Now all of my entries are associated with my Gmail account and show up in green. The "default" doesn't appear to be on the device anymore at all. Not sure exactly what happened there, but this is pretty funky...it does sync properly with Outlook, however.
