For what model of BlackBerry?

ONLY the 8100 Pearl has the ability to change the pearl trackball color via it's LEDs.

Sorry, but the only BB that can change the color of the track ball is the 8100 Pearl.

yeah it is kinda lame you can color your trackball though. check the disassemblly photos in the 8100 forum. you can color the ball itself somehow. check google for info on that

Yeah, it's a real shame that RIM took out the color LEDs out of all the other models.

No, I would not desecrate my BB in that manner... but you will find multiple posts here of persons who have done so.

I just let the actual acid rain from the sky turn mine a dim yellow.

People also put a small piece of scotch tape over the LED under the trackball, and color the tape with a sharpie, that way you could always just alternate colors by removing the tape and placing another colored piece tape over the LED.

Just follow the disassembly instructions and you should be good. It is pretty simple. I've done this plenty of times, it becomes very easy after a few times.
