I bought my BlackBerry Curve 8320 with T-Mobile service, two days ago.


And in the phone's menu, there's a "AIM" icon.


But when i click on it, it states i have to go to www.blackberry.com/aim to "activate my handheld for aim".


So i go to the website but it says, "Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support AOL Instant Messenger for BlackBerry."

I kinda confused since i have a pretty new phone, and it even has the "AIM" icon in the menu. So why does it say my device doesn't meet system requirements?

Not sure about your device, but the AIM on my 8120 was garbage so I now use jive talk. Might want to give it a shot

Have you tried going to your BIS account and re-sending service books?

If you look in your service books, do you have one for AIM?

^ I agree. Try resending your service books. Also, try installing AIM from http://www.blackberry.com/instantmessaging.

Try also IM+ All-in-One Mobille Messenger. Maybe you'll like it.

ebuddy is also a good one. it allows me chat on AIM and Facebook Chat (as well as others) all within the same application. when you log in, you'll have a giant buddy list with either "AIM" icons next to their name if that person is on AIM, "facebook" icon for facebook, etc.

Do you have the Blackberry Data Plan? You need the internet on TMobile to get your messengers to work. I had this issue until I got the internet and then it started working. If you don't have the internet the messengers won't work. That's the problem I had.
