Arrow Ramble vs. IM+ vs. VeriChat

Please Login to Remove!

as far as features which ones would you say are the best out of all three , as far as chatroom, IM , time between IM's , profile, etc.

me personally ive only tried IM+ and Ramble and i definitely say Ramble , only because the time between IM's were way off on IM+ and as far as Ramble it pops up right away , but VeriChat ive had problems trying to install it so i just pretty much gave up on it lol.. but if we could get some opinions up here that would be great..

For being free, I'd certainly put Ramble at the top. I didn't experience any of the install issues that some people have complained bout. My only gripe is that a lengthy IM session can take a while to bring up, so I have to clear the conversation quite frequently.

Please remember, Ramble is currently only applicable to AOL IM. No other instant messaging service can be used with this application. That being said, Ramble is the way to go from a cost perspective assuming you do not need other instant messaging applications, i.e. MSN, Yahoo, etc.

Angry Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

On my T-Mobile/7230 (on a BES), it just hangs on the window saying "Reconnecting, Please Wait." I cannot even get it to sign on.

Of course I just installed Ramble so do I need to sync first, reset, anything? Gracias.

Wirelessly posted (your electric?: BlackBerry7520/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.12)

This is currently an issue everyone is having with Ramble, check the 3rd party software section for more details.

As for clients I just un-installed Ramble last night and will probably go back to IM+ which I had great success with, since it actually felt like AIM or any other IM client. Plus it was a lot more reliable, Ramble logs out at least 3 times a day on me. I will say Ramble is good... for being free. Hopefully they expand on it more and make it more reliable.

Im so sick of verichat. Even on the most updated versions, you never know when it's going to kick out. Ramble is free, has excellent notifications when someone messages you and is very quick. I will not renew my subscription with verichat when it's finished.

Wow, just realized that myself. The answer is probably in the Aftermarket Software forum...

Hello,

We apologize for the delay in responding to your concern about Ramble IM and its inability to connect to your AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) account. We have been troubleshooting this problem and have found that AOL itself seems to be experiencing a very particular problem with the type of connection Ramble IM and other systems, like AOL's own Quick Buddy, use to log in and use AIM. The issue is not with Ramble, BlackBerry or with your wireless carrier (like Nextel, Verizon Wireless or Cingular). We have contacted AOL and submitted a troubleticket for resolution. There is no current estimated time to resolution.

Thank you for your patience and use of Ramble IM. We will inform you once the situation has been resolved.

Jean-Paul
