We are able to do a GAL lookup for any Exchange enabled user on our device. However if we try and perform a lookup on the device for any external contacts, or even distribution groups, the lookup cannot find any matches.
Any ideas on why this might be?

I'm a newbie and still have an issue were we can still only do lookups for users with mailboxes, and are unable to do GAL lookups for external contacts or distribution groups.
I guess firstly... should we be able to see contacts or distribution groups?
Secondly, if so, how is that accomplished?

Welcome to the forums. I would suggest a couple of pointers when posting questions

1) Post in BESadmin forum if you're talking anything BES related
2) Post more details on version of BES (e.g 4.1.4 MR2) and Exchange version as we're not telekinetic

In terms of the issue itself no thats one I noticed a couple of days ago, and I haven't had time to investigate myself. As it was a small DL and I knew everyone who was on it then I mailed them all via CC, but I agree this won't work for large distros..
