Default BB back up software query?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I'm using a 8310 on our works BES server and have a query about backing up. I can't connect via a USB cable to our work computers as they are "dead terminals". I have therefore installed the BB software onto my home/private PC, does that make any difference to the functionality of "backing up"?

I think the real question is - When running BB back-up software does it need to be installed on the same PC that the BB is linked to via the BES server?

I guess being on a BES things like email, calendar events would copy across if you had to wipe the device (from the BES). What happens to things like "Groups" within contacts - would they be lost?

Would software like BBalerts be backed up if I did a manual back up to my PC?

Rob.

Wirelessly posted

Go ahead and do a back up on your pc, its always good to have one & it won't harm anything.

I do not know enough about BES to advise you there.

See this link for backing up 3rd party applications.

Hope that helps.

The company you bought the software from will always assist you with supplying a new registration key & download should you require it.

I tend to keep my cod files in a folder on my computer and keep a note of my activation codes in case I need them.

Hope that helps.
