Default BB back up software query?

Hi,

I'm using a 8310 on our works BES server and have a query about backing up. I can't connect via a USB cable to our work computers as they are "dead terminals". I have therefore installed the BB software onto my home/private PC, does that make any difference to the functionality of "backing up"?

I think the real question is - When running BB back-up software does it need to be installed on the same PC that the BB is linked to via the BES server?

I guess being on a BES things like email, calendar events would copy across if you had to wipe the device (from the BES). What happens to things like "Groups" within contacts - would they be lost?

Would software like BBalerts be backed up if I did a manual back up to my PC?

Go ahead and do a back up on your pc, its always good to have one & it won't harm anything.



I do not know enough about BES to advise you there.

The company you bought the software from will always assist you with supplying a new registration key & download should you require it.



I tend to keep my cod files in a folder on my computer and keep a note of my activation codes in case I need them.
