Default AT&T Blackberry 8310 missing Off Deck Browser

Hey All,

Usually you have 2 browsers on your phone 1 being the on-deck browser (MediaNet for AT&T) which goes to the ATT portal and then an off-deck browser which is not controlled by the carrier.

For some reason one of my Blackberrys (yes I have 2 work/personal) is missing the default browser which is not Medianet for ATT. Even after a complete wipe the browser is missing.
Is there a way to get it back? Or has ATT stripped my browser for this particular firmware? I don't like going through the stupid MediaNet portal.

NoBrowser = 8310(1) missing browser options
Browser = 8310(2) using Blackberry browser
Browser1 = 8310(2) showing all its options

Why is one like this and the other not? They are both AT&T phones, one was purchased a few months after the other.

Try options->advanced options->host routing table->[click menu]->register now.

This should re-send your service books. One of the books controls the presence or absence of your browser. Both the media net and the non-media net are controlled by your carrier (ATT in this case)

Failing that, you can login to your BIS website and click send service books from there.
Treat your password like your toothbrush. Don't let anybody else use it, and get a new one every six months.

Make sure its not hidden. Main icon screen > menu > show all and see if the browser is there

It does sound like a service book issue however so try what is listed above first.

I experienced this when I got my Curve recently. I resent the service books, as people suggested above, and that worked. I actually used the bis log in approach as i had just finished setting up my email using the icon they provided. After a reboot (battery pull), my browser icon was there. Yay!

Re-register device should solve this. I always need to do that after updating to a newer OS.
