Default block texting

Please Login to Remove!

can it be done? i don't have a texting plan, only data. i dont want to have texts coming in. i know on my old phone i was able to completely block them incoming and outgoing

from my knowledge you cannot do that on the phone. hit up verizon andhave them turn it off

Crap..lol...well as far as i know, it is turned off on my plan but i still get them

Yes you can turn off that functionality locally;

Options->Security Options->Firewall-> Click SMS to block incoming SMS messages

Yes, you can block them from the device.

Click on Options -> Security Options -> Firewall. Check 'SMS' to block text messages.

Interestingly though... with the 4.5 enhancements, it appears you now have the ability to block SMS/MMS/etc. from all but those on your contact list! This is what I was waiting for to block spam SMS messages!

So, you can block texts from anyone that isnt on your contact list?

Yes it would appear so. I have the option to block; SMS, MMS, PIN, BIS or Enterprise Email from everyone, or just those not on my contact list, or just specific addresses!

if vz turns txting off you cant send sms or revice them like #bal etc also wont work, you can block it in a phone but you will still get charged for it. just wont see them.

you're going to have to call your wireless service provider and have them put a block on it.
