Hi everyone. I just jumped ship from a Palm Treo 650 to a Blackberry Curve 8310 as the Palm began crashing regularly and now won't even sync to my email , it just shuts auto reboots. Junk.

Anyhow, I have thus far really enjoyed the Curve and its features. My email is on an Outlook Exchange server and I was wondering whether this is considered a B.E.S. for set-up purposes? I had tried this and I recieved an email to my outlook account from the Blackberry server that contained a bunch of code, however my Blackberry did not complete the process and I am not able to send/recieve email. Where am I going wrong?

Also, do I use my regular email address in the set-up field or the exchange address?

Which plan did you subscribe BIS or BES?

If you are on BIS, go to the carrier's BIS site and set the account up from there. If you can access your email through OWA, it's a pretty simple setup.

Not sure which one. It was whatever I was using with my Palm. Am awaiting a response from the host as to which one it is though.

If you are using corporate email then you have to ask your IT department or Email Support Group for the password and login info to sync all your data.

Do all major carriers off this on their websites?

It's impossible to say. The question is whether or not your mail provider has a BES server. Whether or not you're on Exchange doesn't really provide any clue, unfortunately.

Set up is going to depend a lot on what access options are available. If you don't have BES then try setting up OWA with BIS. If not, you'll have to try POP or IMAP assuming those are options. Again, you'll have to check with your Exchange admin to see what your options are.

Every Blackberry-capable carrier has its own BIS site.
