hard to pick an all time favorite, but the freeing up memory sticky John did is probably my current all time favorite post. I reference each time I update and I have pointed family/friends I know with BB's to the thread as well to free up memory on theirs too.

The College Football ones are runner ups.

Another vote for "Freeing up memory" by John Clark.

I've had my 8310 for only a few months, and this forum has been my training wheels. One of the most useful posts I have run across (they have all been very useful) has been JC's post on how to optimize memory by editing the .ALX files. Thank you JC for that, by the way!

Here is the link to that post:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ee-memory.html

I also wanted to thank everyone with the forum for being so very helpful in helping me get absolutely hooked on my BB! I cannot see going with another type of device than a BB ever again now.

For me, with a few models here to keep updated, it has to be http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-...ll-models.html

I've been hovering there for a couple of years I think.

There were a lot to choose from and I've given and gotten help all over the place but that link above is a bookmark.

Cheers!

I am going to resurrect one of my first major problems that turned me onto this site when I was trying to get an IT Policy off my (yes you guessed it) 7100. It was my first device and had no idea of the security features. So I dug and dug and with the help from some very nice people I helped put together one of the first full posts (without a link to the policy.bin because of a promise I made to the person that gave it to me) on how to remove the IT Policy. Since then the link below has helped a number of people and the all knowing John Clark did credit me as one of the contributors.

Thanks to OS 4.3+ you no longer need this method since JL_CMDR or JavaLoader.exe can do it natively without losing any bluetooth functionality but it brings back memories and was very helpful and I am sure others are still using it until RIM and the carriers release 4.5 for all devices officially and all of the unfortunate souls that will never see anything close to 4.5 until they upgrade..

I hope I win the BlackBerry Bold...I would take the 8310 from Horizon as well....I am not picky!!!

Talking YouTube vs. YouPorn and... - 07-11-2008, 06:25 PM

I have 2 favorites, but can only find the link for the first one: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...s-youporn.html.

Granted, not the most useful from a Blackberry usability perspective, but I continue to laugh every time I read the thread. Now that's value! Especially this post:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...tml#post932890

I'm sad I can't find the other one - it was something like "how many of you use your BB in the bathroom." That was also too funny - anyone remember this one and can provide link? I did a search but can't find it anymore (maybe it was toasted when the site died awhile back?)

I never win anything though, so good luck to all those who have already contributed to this thread and those that will!

link--->blackberryforums.com/general-blackberry-discussion/112029-losing-call-logs-sms-emails-optimize-your-bb-how-setup-max-free-memory.html<---link

This thread helps reduce memory use, remove unused programs, install unique themes, along with other tips and tricks.

I'm not allowed to post an actual link until I have 10 posts... so I have to go this route.

I'm going to go with this one: http://www.blackberrynews.com/2008/0...the-community/

It shows how generous this community is, and although it was for a great member who provides a great service, its still basically give to a stranger in need. While some of you know audit on a personal level, a lot of you that donated do not, and this was such a great gesture.

http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-...va-loader.html

To me this post is what got me hooked on BBF for good. I loaded a new OS, not the beta, just the reccomended one stickied in the curve section. and I received this error, after reading through it i was able to solve a problem in 2 minutes instead of the hours of tech support when I first had my phone. Also, john clarkes memory cleaning post. how to stop losing call logs is great

This is a great site and I am proud to be a member.

I love that Mark started this one, I reference back to it all the time especially when I switch devices and have to reinstall apps!

The first thread that comes to mind is the aftermarket software list. When I got my first blackberry I went searching for all the latest applications that I could possibly put on my blackberry and I got a good amount of interesting new apps from this thread!

Good luck everyone, the Bold is a beauty.

My all-time favorite thread is "LIST: Latest Versions of 3rd Party Software (Mini Version Tracker)." Reason being is it is very useful for finding apps that fit my need instead of going on a wild hunt that leads to no results. Instead all the apps I could think of are posted in one spot to go through and see what I need. Another great thing about this thread is it keeps you fairly updated on the latest versions of your favorite apps. Im usually busy with school and work to check through the programs for updates. Instead I go through this thread and skim through on my free time to see if there are any updates to my favorite programs. Overall this thread has provided me with tons of apps that made my Blackberry so much more special; its my ultimate Blackberry with everything I need.
