Default GPS AND weather - It is possible?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello guys, I travel a lot and have a 8310 with me all times. I am looking for a location based software that can find my location once a day and then pull the actual weather forecast for the forthcoming days? I am searching the internet for the last two days and cant find the right one... anyone?

Wirelessly posted (8120 4.5.037)

That does sound very cool! I will keep an eye out but don't know of one off the top of my head.

Wow, that sounds like a great application. If you happen to find it, please post it.

This can be handled in (MS) Live Search (v 2.0.3048.13898-Beta).

When launching the app, turn GPS on in Options, set the Near field to "GPS Location" and then click the Weather icon. This will Give you today + 4 days into the future at the GPS Location.

Check out Where.Com - I found at least 2 weather widgets (originally went there for the Gas Buddy widget). Start on the Web at your desktop, pick what you want, arrange it on the virtual phone screen, then load it on your handset and it synchs it all up for you. There are something like 80 location-based applications already in play - about two dozen available to me on AT&T - for finding weather, auto repair, Irish Pubs, wineries, airports, car rental places, lots of stuff - without ever having to enter a Zip code.

If only Live Search would include live radar with it's GPS Weather functionality.... dare to dream....

So there's still room for a better location based weather app. Around here animated doppler is very helpful as the weather can change very quickly.

The best BB weather application overall is the premium (not free) one from Weather.com aka The Weather Channel because it gets you the satellite and radar animated images and a lot more. The current version is not yet location-aware, but I just spoke to them last week and they're working on it.

The best location-aware weather - the only ones I found so far - are through Where.com

Live Location Doppler imagery would be a great thing, and would make it easily the best app out there (especially if its free).

I have been attempting to use the Where.com service but it appears to be having trouble after I enter my phone #, the site just sits at processing. I am going to keep trying, it looks promising.
