Exclamation Blackberry 8300 email question

Please Login to Remove!

I recently purchased a Blackberry Curve 8300 from a friend who had about a month earlier purchased the phone off of EBay. The phone is unlocked also. I use it with Cingular. I am still receiving emails from the first person who owned the phone's email account and being new to Blackberry I have no idea how to delete the old email that the first person who owned the phone set up. When I do the email setup, it says there is already an account for the pin. Anybody know how to help me? All help is appreciated.

What exactly do I download? I need to know specifics because I don't want to mess up something and make the phone unable to be used. I appreciate the help though.

Wiping the BB isn't the solution. BIS will push the service books out again and you'll be back to square one after all that effort.

You need to have the BIS account associated with your BB deleted. You'll probably need to get the prior owner to do this for you.

After that, delete the service books for that account.

go to email set up icon on the screen you will see email accounts click on that it will pull up all the accounts set up for that phone just select delete.

then once you have done this AT&T walked me thru how to clean the bio by holding the alt button at the same time type in lglg this will bring up all the files cookies ect... then go to options and delete. after you have done this take out battery for a few minutes then put back in and let your phone reboot... i do this two or three times a week depending on how much texting, browsing and emailing i do on my phone.

That won't help. You need to know the BIS credentials. Not an option if someone else set it up.

OP is stuck as the carrier will need to delete the BIS account.

Unless the OP's friend can contact the original owner and obtain the BIS credentials.
