This is gonna sound crazy to some of you, but what exactly is that? I was setting some new exceptions up in my notifications and remembered that I never used it, or even asked about it.
So, forgive me for my ignorance.

these are messages from a set of people you select in your address book. You can set a special ringtone for these contacts for example.

How is that done? I'm looking in my address book and my notifications, and I don't see an option for that.

Profiles/advanced/Important calls
BB button / Edit
and contact in the From box
Change the profile and custom phone tune at will.

You don't need to apologize -- just try using search next time.

That's similar but it's not Level 1 messaging. Level 1 messaging only applies to email.

In your filters (set on the BB/DM for BES or on your BIS site for BIS accounts) you can specify that certain email meeting your criteria is to be forwarded as Level 1. On your BB you can set a different alert for Level 1 messages than the regular email alert.

This allows you to have different alerts (whether one or the other is set to none, vibrate only or a different tone). On my personal BB my email alerts are silent with LED notification. Only email from certain people are set to be Level 1 and I only get audio alerts for Level 1 messages. Keeps the BB from going off and buzzing constantly all day.

PIN messages are also Level 1 messages.
