RIM reports no network issues

It looks like the problem was finally repaired. I'm getting emails on time and the RIM network service issue line has changed the message to "no known issues"

Sash, is this RIM Network service line a known phone number to call or web site to check?

That thing always tells me I have an invalid PIN.... I guess it works for some.

WorldIRC 10-17-2004 04:41 PM

Yup. works for my friend but not for me.

*Please note that at present, we are only able to provide network notifications respecting the wireless network operated by Cingular Interactive LLP and respecting the BlackBerry network infrastructure. We apologize for the inconvenience, and will post updates as they become available

Talk about incompetent:

This application will be unavailable for approximately one hour due to maintenance.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

In other words: "The outage service is unavailable due to an outage"

would you rather them not do maintenance on the application and it be down due to actual issues during the time of an actual network outage?

jibi 10-17-2004 08:03 PM

and unless things have changed in the last 3-4 weeks, here's their response concerning their network status page:

Quote:

At this point in time the web page network status is for Mobitex and DataTac services only. For GPRS, CDMA or iDEN network status updates I would suggest calling our technical support center. The number for our call center is 1.877.255.2377. You may also want to contact your carrier for a update on the status of their network, if you're having coverage issues.
