Unlock Problem - No one can solve to date.

BB 7100g
IMEI: 354594003356387
Unlock Code: 24768579
Carrier: Rogers

The unlock code has been confirmed from 3 different sources, but every time it is entered the result is, “code error: please wait…”
Further info:
1) The IT policy has been removed
2) Password is disabled
3) It has been updated to the latest handheld operating software
4) I have done “Wipe Handheld”
5) The carrier is Rogers, Canada – their unlock codes are 8 digits.

So far no one has been able to solve this mystery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought Rogers quit producing unlock codes.

Personally, I don't know how long Rogers codes were, i thought they were longer.

First i paid $20 for the unlock code, when that code didn't work i used a program called "free blackberry codes reader" and it gave me the same code. Today I took it to a shop and they also confirmed that the code is correct.

HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, The World’s Cellular Repair Center ß check with them. I have unlocked many devices. Also just to be sure email the unlocker a screenshot of your status screen.

And you did check to make sure the device wasnt already unlocked right?

Are you following the correct unlock procedure?

How do I unlock my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

texshade 07-14-2008 03:33 PM

Yes. After entering MEPPD, Network is "Active". And when I put in a SIM card from other carrier it says Invalid SIM Card or something to that effect.

Sith_Apprentice 07-14-2008 03:35 PM

i cant remember, does the 7100 show the numbers as you are typing them in?

5. The BB will ask for a code. NOTE: You must use the "alt" or "shift" key to enable numbers so example would be: m-e-p-"alt key"-2 Now you should see the place to enter your net unlock code.(if not, you didn't type in mep2 or mepp2 properly.)

texshade 07-14-2008 03:38 PM

Where it asks to enter the Network MEP code... yes it does show the numbers as they are typed.

Horizon Wireless 07-14-2008 03:50 PM

Possible it is hard locked, meaning you entered the code in wrong too many times. When you do mep2, how many tries left does it show??

texshade 07-14-2008 03:53 PM

It showes 180 tries left. Yes i know thats high, but BB under Rogers Canada starts the device with 250 tries.

JSanders 07-14-2008 03:54 PM

eh, are you sure, 250?

Horizon Wireless 07-14-2008 03:54 PM

I also have equipment to "force" the code into the device if all else fails, presuming the code you have is correct.

Hes right on that one JS, shows 250, but drops rapidly every time the code is entered wrong.

Steve (HorizonWireless), Come on I know you go out of the way for people! Fly to Belize.

Horizon Wireless 07-14-2008 07:34 PM

might shoot by there while in Greece :-)

Sith_Apprentice 07-14-2008 07:41 PM

That would be quite a trip out of the way. I have heard its beautiful there, but nowhere on the way to Greece.

I found a solution to my problem. It happened to be in another thread: 24241-sim-unlock-tool.html

The application "SIM_Unlock_Tool_USB_BlackBerry" did the trick. Running did a simple flashing to my BB, after it brought the number of MEP code tries to 10, i then entered the MEP code and ...... code accepted.

Thanks Blackberry forums!!!!
