That would mean you or someone else followed the instructions to remove the BlackBerry from a BES system.

I believe John Clark's name is just on the Owner screen, right? Edit that under Options -> Owner.

And if his name is on it, it's as good as a blank IT Policy.

The policy is there to stay but it has no restrictions.

I understand that but a refurb is supposed to come like a virgin new phone with no it policies on it. How do I rid the phone and make itnew, via a wipe?

Call your carrier and tell them that your replacement phone was not wiped properly.

Whoa! Hold on everyone! While it's true that that IT policy came from my thread here, you don't need to return it in order to get rid of it. Why they sent you a refurb with my IT policy on it is beyond me.

The 8330 has OS 4.3 on it so my IT policy should have never been applied to it, anyway. You can remove IT policy on OS 4.3 and higher devices just by using the first method of IT policy removal in the thread I linked above.

I added the note with my name and where to find me for just such occasions so that people would know where it came from.

So now Slovak, IF you got your refurb from your carrier, you know they lied to you.

Where did you buy the BB?

It wasn't refurbed then, or at least whoever refurbed it didn't know about reset to factory settings. Nevertheless, it works, right?

And in doing so, you his name on it... It will always have the blank policy now, until you read the thread JC linked above and read the first paragraph.
