Question EMERGENCY ONLY is the only call that can be made

Please Login to Remove!

My Blackberry 6230 has been rendered useless by T-Mobile/Blackberry tech support. The problem is that when I want to place a phone call I get the message "Sorry, only emergency calls are allowed"......T-Mobile replaced the SIM card which is 100% working, except when I put it into my Blackberry...I can send emails and view them as well as see my contacts. I've tried other working SIM cards and was unsuccessful in making phone calls...I've tried hard and soft reset as well as re-installing the entire phone back to it's factory setting....If anybody knows anyway to fix this please let me know. The phone is out of warranty so I'm not opposed to attempting anything that may fix it....Thank you[color=DarkRed]My Blackberry 6230 has been rendered useless by T-Mobile/Blackberry tech support. Have you tried reflashing the firmware on it? Not sure if you are running the lastest version of what's available for a 6230.

DId you buy a used BlackBerry? It is possible that the prior owner had a very restrictive IT Policy on it that is preventing phone calls.

Was this BB new or used?

P.S. Doesn't sound like a T-Mobile problem to me at all.

i agree with NJBlackBerry's line of thinking. it probably has an IT Policy on it thats is VERY restrictive. most likely, the previous owner (big assumption, since you won't specify)'s company had a policy in place to disallow the use of the phone services.

The 6230 was bought used off of Ebay, and I was just confirmed for a second time from Blackberry that there is nothing I can do except get the original owner to cancel the IT Policy....It is very unlikely that I will get this to happen, but I will email the people whom I purchased it from and give it a shot....Does anybody else have any other suggestions or know the way I can delete the IT Policy....The phone is not stolen and the .....The PIN number has been cleared with T-Mobile and Blackberry, but they cannot delete the IT Policy.....What do I do now other than tear the phone apart and try to put it back together....????

Tearing the phone apart won't help, unfortunately...
Lots of people in the same boat.. Sorry...
