Default Sprint BB Data Down Last 12 Hours

Please Login to Remove!

I'm trying to figure out if this is nationwide or a local problem. Sprint's Blackberry Data system (apparently just their BES) has been down for nearly 12 hours, since about 8:00 ET Friday night. The people at the Blackberry Support number play dumb, act like it's the first time they've heard anything about it, and then "find" an e-mail from last night announcing a "nationwide outage." So either they are totally incompetent or just choosing to BS me for whatever reason. Regardless, this is unacceptable! Anyone else having issues?

Angry Another Man Down

My Sprint BB service is down as well, and has been since early yesterday. Sprint said they didn't know how long it would take to get the systems back up, but they would call me with an update. I don't use a BES. I am sure that it is a RIM issue, as I am able to use the phone and other Sprint "Vision" features!
Post an update on here when you hear something, and I will do the same!

Angry Unacceptable!

It's still down. They are taking trouble tickets in the Blackberry Support Center, (877)654-9111, option 6. I checked in about an hour ago (3pm ET) and they still don't have an ETA. The rep said they were working with RIM to get it up as quickly as possible, but noted "we aren't having much success."

That's encouraging.

Glad to see my $45/month is hard at work.

Yeah, i basically am getting the same info. Sprint said it was an isolated RIM issue and they were working on fixing it. Communication issues between servers. Apparently 7750 users had previous problems earlier this week as well. Just like anything new...you gotta work out the kinks!! ETA was 4 hours (supposedly)!

Still quoting no ETA to me, and keeping tight-lipped on what's going on. I've called in several times this evening and each time am told they're on the phone with RIM trying to fix it, but not making much progress. Oh well.

Strangely, I am seeing a lot of data activity going across my Blackberry (looking at the arrows in the top right corner of the screen) but no connectivity. I have no programs open trying to access the network. It behaves like *something* is trying to communicate with the device, but it's a no-go.

They sure have been on that "conference call with RIM" for a LONG time now... that call's going on 7 hours long.

Wonder if they tried Ctrl+Alt+Delete yet?

Angry

According to Sprint, the RIM data keeps going in a "perpetual loop", and not reaching Sprint servers. All the RIM and Sprint engineers are on a "bridge call" with other carriers engineers who are affected. This is supposedly not an isolated Sprint issue anymore. There are multiple carriers who support 7250 and 7750, that are having an outage!!

NO ETA ON COMPLETITION... :(

Anyone else on here with same model phones having problems??

I find that difficult to believe. I know there are very few people using Sprint's Blackberry service (since nobody really even knows it exists) but if other carriers were affected, we would surely see a lot of posts here or on other boards (HowardForums, for example). That ain't happenin'.

It's been 26 hours now.

No guns drawn.

I have no doubts that's what you were told. Sprint tends to dream up a lot of stuff to get people to leave them alone. ;)
