Default How do I know if Company IT policies are blocking OS Upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

Have a company 7290. Tried to upgrade the OS to 4.0.2 at home to enable BT on a BMW. Downloaded and installed the OS upgrade executable. Hadn't done this before but it seemed normal. The load installed and asked for the handset and showed a page like the application loader, but it didn't spend any time and I didn't see any reboot on the BB.

When I check the handset tools/about it sill says 4.0.0, while the desktop manager's about page (under the handeset software tab) says 4.0.2.

Any ideas on how to tell if I am restricted from upgrading the OS? Where are these "IT Policies" documented? If somone can tell me easily that the problem is the "lock" on my BB and not my own lack of knowledge on the OS upgrade I can move on to the next step.

Thanks

First thing to do is to locate and delete "VENDOR.XML" from the C: drive on your PC. Then restart Desktop Manager.

Give that a shot.

Successful Upgrade - Thanks!! - deleted Vendor.xml and it did show the OS load, it loaded the 4.0.2 . There was a range of options that I left with the default settings. With that new OS the BB BlueTooth now pairs and stays connected with the BMW ULF all was good.
