Default v4.5 & GMail?

Please Login to Remove!

I have WiFi enabled (preferred) and GPRS enebled, NO DATA PLAN.
All the time I had v4.2.2, GMailG v1.0 worked fine via WiFi (if available) and via GPRS (if WiFi not available).
After instaling different v4.5 versions (currently v4.5.37),
GMailG v1.0 (or v1.5) is not working: "no data connection".
At the same time MiniOpera is working fine.

Question for professionals:
Where the bug?

Had you ever in the past had a BB Data Plan, before upgrading?

Works fine over GPRS but doesnt work on WIFI. I've read that for some folks it does work on WI-FI and it would be great if I can find out how. No BB plans available from my provider so can't add the BB data plan and than cancel it. Plus, if you sign up for BB data, you are tied into a 2 yr contract.

Maybe it has to do with the OS version running on the handheld?

Never had a data plan, not available on my provider.
Gmail was O.K. via WiFi.
