Default Thank You John! - 12-19-2008, 03:07 AM

I just installed the latest OS on my 8320 (v4.5.0.81) and I was really bummed out when I tried to restore my previous home screen background and found it missing in the "preloaded pictures" folder. I did a search, and was shocked to see someone would have cared to work out a fix and source for this. THANK YOU! Yeah, many delete these sort of things for more memory, but I tanked all the instant messenger stuff I never use, so that compensates a bit.

I can't tell you how much this BB Forum has helped me over the years. I really, really, really appreciate everyone's assistance.

Love those background pix...and your help!

After loading the files into your 8130, pull the battery, wait 30 seconds & retstart.

Ok I followed your instructions and it loaded ok. Where should these be found. I looked in the media application under pictures and then preloaded pictures and there is nothing?

I downloaded and installed the preloaded wallpapers onto my blackberry without any problems. but now, whenever i place a call the wallpaper changes back to the default wallpaper. when the call is ended and return to homescreen, it is the wallpaper that i have chosen. does anyone know how to keep the homescreen wallpaper the same while placing a call??

Default problems with this procedure - 03-28-2009, 05:37 PM

When I did this the media manager insisted on removing all Google apps regardless of whether I had them unchecked or not. Great fun (not).

Then I got the wallpaper file installed to the Curve the wallpaper I was using before the OS upgrade was not included.

Can anyone tell me what indispensible thing that this OS does that the previous one did not so I won't feel that I've screwed myself?

OK I was able to download this set into my BB...but...these wallpapers are not the ones I had in my BB...what happened to the original wallpapers??? My original ones had dolphins, a sailboat...as well as a white flower and a pink flower among others. I know it sounds petty, but I miss using my original ones and I wonder why this 4.5 update deleted them????? Just curious and I would like to get them back...somehow?!?!

They deleted it to make room for larger OS and features.

Sorry but I only had Sprint blackberry 8830 so I only have those wallpapers. :( Theres a method of adding old wallpapers from old OS into your new one, just read the earlier posts.

They are simple alx/cod type installation file and Desktop Manager is required to load them.

Simply unzip the files into a folder somewhere you won't delete them. Then use the "Add" or "Browse" feature in Application Loader and browse to the .alx file. It should add the medialoader.cod to the application loader. Click on Finish to load the files to the BB. After the file has been installed, disconnect from the PC and remove the battery from the device to reboot.
