Maybe a dumb question.. but does it work with iTunes DRM songs?

The BB won't play DRM protected songs. No other media player besides the iPod will play them.

That's what I thought. But I think the large majority of songs people have from iTunes are DRM protected, so even though the app is cool, how useful is it really... I think I have only a very few non-DRM songs from iTunes.

Yeah, I know. It is cool the app is available, though.

Been using it since the "leaked" version and love it. With 4.5 on my BB now, it even syncs my itunes playlists to my BB playlists.......I now find myself in need of an 8gig microsdhc card. Lol.

For those who have too much DRM'd music.......I know it's a pain, but just burn the music you want to a cd, then re-import it into itunes as mp3s. Create a "smart playlist" in itunes and have it update with the mp3 files you've just added and you can keep it organized that way.

or

Create another music folder on your computer and after you've burned the music from the drm selections, you go into preferences and import your burned songs as mp3s to that new folder and anytime you sync with your BB open up itunes first and point it to your "special folder" first, then sync your music.

voila.

BTW, this is an updated version from the leaked version. I had 1.0.0.11 and this is 1.0.0.16.

Hi Guys,

I can't get Media Sync to work for me. Can someone help me out?
The installation went fine but when the program launches I get an error message stating that "BlackBerry Media Sync failed to connect to your BlackBerry device. Click Connect to try again or Cancel to disconnect." My Device is listed in the top left corner of the programs main window and my iTunes playlists do show up. My Curve 8330 does display the Connected to Desktop screen. Does anyone know what's wrong?
I did do a search and I'm not alone. Just no answers yet since it's still early on.
Any response would be nice.

Thanks,
BenJr

Default Can't get passed the Country Selection - 07-24-2008, 08:25 AM

I am trying to download the new media sync software from blackberry and I cannot get beyond the "country, region" part. It just clocks at that point. Any clues anyone?

Odd. Click the Download button on the site and nothing happens. Nada.

Thought it might be a cookie issue but I'm set up to automatically accept cookies from the domain. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am having the same issue... it's probably a site issue then at this point. I would just check back later today and see if they resolved the issue.

I rarely buy from iTunes so no issue for me. In fact, about 1% of my sizeable collection has Apple DRM associated. Most of my tunes come from CD. It's still cheaper to buy a CD in most cases than downloading from iTunes and other services. This way you also get control over the sound quality of the copy AND the format.

I'm looking forward to trying out Media Sync myself.

I downloaded with no issue last night, but the same link which was still on my screen this morning wouldn't work. They must've taken it down for some reason. Perhaps I'll hold off installing it just yet.

Hi Guys,

I Wiped my BlackBerry clean and now I can connect.
Not sure what was interfering before but I'll post back when I get some more information.
