Default Why does my music stop playing when using a headset - 07-24-2008, 03:31 PM

I ride a motorcyle to work. When using the media player to listen to music on the blackberry Curve 8330 and a wired headset the music will stop playing. If I hold my hand over the microphone on the headset it will start playing.
After going through the forums it seemed to be the VAD. So i followed the steps and deleted it from the phone but it still is happening? any idea why? It also happened on the pearl before I got the curve

Is it a full duplex headset? i.e. Can you speak AND listen at the same time? It may be cutting out the ear piece when the microphone picks up noise.

Bad headset (short or the like).......have you tried with another headset? that will tell you for sure if the issue does not replicate........
